Yes to Lisbon – No to Lisbon

lisbon ff

The photocall launch of the Fianna Fail Yes-to-Lisbon campaign got a little confusing yesterday when Sinn Fein protesters calling for a NO vote turned up and stood amongst the Fianna Failers outside the Royal College of Physicians in Kidare Street, Dublin.

Poor PR stunt by Sinn Féin.

Solidarity – Update

Quick update on our solidarity initiative. We have had an overwhelming response from across the marketing and PR  industry, some of the biggest names in the business are coming on board which is fantastic.

Interestingly enough but hardly surprising, several politicians have expressed an interest but I think this is out of self-interest more than anything else. There has also been alot of interest from the media but we are holding back on briefing them until we firm up on our strategy.

Social Media, PR (old school and new), public affairs, copy-writing, strategy and media buying are very well represented so far. One area that we need a dig out with almost immediately is getting a web presence live for the project.  Any takers?

Free advertising in Camden

Small businesses in Camden, London are getting free advertising advice from one of their neighbours RKCR/Y&R.

The agency has set up shop to offer free consultations and executions to local traders, stall holders and other independent retailers.

Richard Exon, the chief executive of RKCR/Y&R, said: “RKCR is based in Camden and felt we wanted to give something back to the community.

“The current economic climate can be hard on independent shops – if we can help make the slightest difference to local business by offering up our creativity, then we’re happy to do so.”

All of the creative work from the project will be put on view at the end of the week.

Wow, this is a very cooool idea, I love to see folk giving something back.

This is something that should be replicated here in Dublin. Theres lots of little businesses out there that dont have budgets for marketing and PR etc which could be the making or breaking of their businesses.

How about some of us get together in solidarity with small businesses who are  under pressure in the current climate  and give them some free expertise in the areas of marketing, PR, online or just simply good sound creative advice.

Anyone up for it??

If so drop me a line at

Bounty Paper Towels

Great stunt by Bounty to highlight the absorbency of their paper towels. On 7th Avenue in New York, busy commuters were greeted by a giant coffee cup knocked over and spilling onto the sidewalk – complete with steam and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
