The lawsuit over the content of Taco Bell’s “seasoned beef” has been withdrawn by the plaintiff although Tacon Bell say that no money etc has changed hands.
The plaintiff, Amanda Obney, contended the beef taco filling contained less than 50 percent beef and that Taco Bell’s own suppliers euphemistically called it “taco meat filling.”
But Taco Bell countered that the filling is actually 88 percent beef and 12 percent “signature recipe.”
Given the fervor with which Taco Bell contented the claims, however, it should be not very surprising that the chain did not accept the news quietly. Instead, they took out giant ads in all of the leading newspapers including the Wall Street Journal, with a giant header reading, “Would it kill you to say you’re sorry?”
