Trends for 2011 from JWT

Trendspotters aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. There are more than a few who find the work of coining made-up words like staycation and metrosexual rather silly.Jon Stewart even had some fun with the profession last year.

But JWT is a believer in scoping out trends through its JWT Intelligence unit. It’s out with prediction of hot trends for 2011. Thankfully, you don’t need to read the 88-page report.

Instead, JWT linked up with The Nursery for a fun cartoon. The trends for brands themselves probably won’t knock your socks off, ranging from game mechanics, daily deals, goods-sharing services and tech dependency to “the Internet of things.”

If you’re scoring at home, here were JWT’s top 10 trends for 2010, dominated by the economic downturn.
