Government press secretary, Eoghan Ó Neachtain, according to the Sunday Tribune, is under fire following a verbal altercation with a TV3 cameraman.
Press secretary Eoghan Ó Neachtain is rumoured to have approached a TV3 cameraman several weeks ago and told him he was not welcome in Government Buildings.
Our understanding is that words were exchanged after the TV3 cameraman demanded special treatment at a high-profile event.
Since then, several ‘personalities’ at TV3 have tried to push this story out for several weeks bemoaning the fact that they have been singled out for special heavy-handed treatment by Government press officers which is total sensationalism according to informed sources.
It has been suggested by several industry insiders that some TV3 personnel have been trying to make a name for themselves in order to secure their positions given the financial situation at the station.
Eoghan Ó Neachtain, a former military man, credited with guiding the army through the mess of the army deafness debacle has done a pretty good job during in Leinster House during what could be described as one of the most difficult periods in Irish politics.
