A South African court has dropped a case against two Dutch women accused of an illegal promotion stunt by a brewer at a World Cup match last week.
ITV pundit Robbie Earle lost his job over the stunt after it emerged he had given tickets to the group.
‘FIFA was not interested in proceeding with the matter. There was a settlement that was reached between the parties and we … decided to exercise discretion and not proceed with the matter,’ said a spokesman for National Prosecuting Authority.
Their arrest came after a group of 36 women wearing orange mini-dresses promoting a Bravaria beer were ejected from Soccer City in Johannesburg at the match between Holland and Denmark.
