WPP to cut 2000 staff


The world’s biggest advertising agency is cutting 2,000 jobs worldwide.

WPP is trimming around 2% of its 112,000 staff.

Boss Sir Martin Sorrell revealed details yesterday as the firm forecast a 2% fall in revenue this year. The group, who created the groundbreaking Dove ads, boosted profits 19% to £958million last year.

But Sorrell believes this year will be tougher. The US will bear the brunt.
